In
1998 on a rainy Northwest spring day, we were rummaging through a long
forgotten box of old family photographs when we came upon a
1930's-era, hand tinted picture of Debbie's mom, Heather's grandmother,
as a little girl. This sweet little six-year old with rag tied ringlets,
blue eyes and dimples spoke
to us, asking us to remember her and to celebrate her memory in a special
way.
Discovering this old photograph compelled us to find a way to display
it in a unique and meaningful way. How to do this came bit by bit and
the idea quickly grew into The Family Tree Picture Globe Company, now
known simply as The Picture Globe Company. Within a year's time our
cottage industry was busting at the kitchen table seams. It became
clear that our idea of celebrating our family tree, our favorite memories,
and our cherished friendships was something all of us have in common.
Our Picture Globe ornaments are the original family ornaments, described
as "the best gift for the person with everything", and a
beautiful way to share special moments captured on film.
We look forward to helping you share and celebrate your memories!

Debbie's mom Louella lost her battle with cancer at the young age
of 32, when Debbie was 10 years old and her brother Gary was 11. She
is "Grandma Lou" to the four grandchildren she never had
the chance to know, and the angel who watches over us all. It is in
her memory that we have created a special relationship with The Fred
Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle.
